Take care of your mind. It’s where you live every day.

Our guiding idea

Care for what actually shows up in everyday life.

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. Care begins with listening — and with the understanding that what you’re carrying is real.

01

Anxiety & Worry

Racing thoughts, a tight chest, the sense that something is always about to go wrong.

02

Depression & Low Mood

Flat days, missing motivation, and the slow drain of not feeling like yourself.

03

Mood & Bipolar

Highs and lows that feel disorienting, and the wish for steadier ground.

04

Sleep & Focus

Nights that won’t end and days that blur — when rest and attention both feel out of reach.

05

Stress & Burnout

Life transitions, caregiving fatigue, and the burnout that creeps in quietly.

06

Trauma Symptoms

Old responses that no longer fit the present — hypervigilance, avoidance, overwhelm.

From curious to confirmed, in three simple steps.

01

Book Online

Choose a time through the patient portal. No phone tag, no forms sent by fax. Your first visit is typically a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation.

02

Meet by Video

All visits happen over HIPAA-compliant video — from your home, your car, or a quiet corner between responsibilities.

03

Follow-Up Care

We build a plan that fits your life, adjust as needed, and stay in touch through the portal between visits.

Getting mental health care shouldn’t feel overwhelming, inconvenient, or out of reach — especially when you’re already holding a lot.
Tylon Staggs, PMHNP-BC
Founder, Open Chair Psychiatry

Hi, I’m Tylon.

I’m a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner based in Southern Ohio, caring for adults across the state by telehealth. My work is medication management — done carefully, with time to talk and time to listen.

My practice is small on purpose. It means your visits aren’t rushed, your plan is built around your actual life, and you talk to the same person every time.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out, this is your sign.

Before your first visit.

Not sure what to expect? A few things most new patients want to know — answered plainly.

What happens on the first appointment?

Your first visit is a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation by video. We review your history, current symptoms, goals, and any medications you’re taking. If medication is appropriate, we discuss options together and build a plan.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can book directly through the patient portal. If your insurance requires one, we’ll help coordinate.

Is telehealth as effective as in-person?

For psychiatric medication management, research consistently shows telehealth is comparable in outcomes to in-person care — with the added benefit of fewer missed visits and less disruption to daily life.

What won’t you treat?

This practice focuses on adult outpatient medication management. Active crises, substance-use-focused treatment, and court-ordered evaluations are outside our scope, and we’ll help you find an appropriate provider if that’s what you need.

How do I reach you between visits?

All non-urgent clinical communication happens through the secure patient portal. For emergencies, please dial 988 or 911.

Ready when you are.

Booking takes about two minutes. No referral needed. Most major Ohio insurance accepted.
